Waiting to Start is Killing Your Chances

Momentum is a powerful thing, and once it starts, it can carry you quite a long way. Many people realize this, but they struggle to get the ball rolling in the first place. In fact, for most people, actually starting a journey towards something and taking that first step will be the hardest step of the entire process.

Sure, once things get more advanced, it would be logical to think that the hardest parts are yet to come. As you progress, you get better at handling things, but the challenges that face you continue to get more and more difficult.

While these obstacles that we face further along in the journey are definitely more challenging objectively, most people will find that they never even have to face them, because they are so afraid of taking the first step. Their fear of failure or fear of being judged by others paralyzes them, and they never start the thing that they have been hoping to do, that they’ve been dreaming about, the thing that could take them where they want to be.

I come at this from an entirely different perspective, and approach things in life without this way of thinking to hold me back. This is not to say that I am free of fear, or that I have accomplished so many amazing things. What I am saying is that my willingness to start things that I want is very high, and I don’t let these fears prevent me from doing the things that I want.
