How I’m Growing on YouTube in 6 Steps
First off, this is going to be controversial, but I’ve always wanted to share these thoughts with anyone who is willing to listen, and I think these ideas are at least worth considering.
I started a YouTube channel in April 2020, and I’ve learned a few things along the way that nobody else seems to be talking about. This is not a definitive guide, but I’ve found that everyone else is telling you the same strategy, and I’m not sure how effective this is. I think I have some tips that could help anyone who’s willing to try something new.
Currently (January 12, 2021) I have just under 5000 subscribers (hopefully more by the time anyone reads this). I understand that this in not a lot to some, but I am quite happy with this number after less than a year on this channel, and I have had much less success with my other attempts with YouTube, so I’ll take it.
What I am the most proud of, however, is the overall engagement with my subscribers, and the steady growth that I have seen. Unlike many smaller channels that I’ve seen, I get a relatively large amount of views compared to the number of subscribers that I have. I am not saying this to brag, as this is still not a large amount of views, but I’ve seen many other YouTubers in my niche fizzle out to a degree after a successful period in 2020, and I think I notice some obvious trends among some of these situations, and I just want to talk about some ways that I approach these challenges.
